Photo Shoot Prep Guide for Getting Ready

To get the most value from your photo shoot that you can you are going to want to invest in yourself and prepare down to the minute details. Here is your simple getting ready prep guide to help you and ultimately obtain gorgeous photos.

You expect your photographer to plan, prepare and invest time and effort into making your shoot great and result in gorgeous photos.

Part if that preparation is you!

I will guide you, help you through choosing your clothing, and pose you completely. So please use this guide as a step by step checklist to prepare you for your gorgeous photos.

The first step is choosing what you are going to wear. You will want properly fitting clothes that are not too tight, but also not baggy or flowy. Baggy/flowy garments tend to make people look larger instead of hiding anything. While clothes that are more form fitting will actually be more flattering.

You will also want to choose fabrics that are not shiny, patterned or striped. These will tend to distract your viewer and often cause other problems in the viewing.

Neutral, plain fabrics and colors are best. White can work, but also often loses it's details.

Long story short, choose your favorites. Choose your colors and styles and then together we will plan the best way to go. Don't forget to choose jewelry that compliments your outfits, including belts and shoes, but forego hats in most cases. You can use pintrest or Stitch Fix for ideas and guides. They can help you with ideas, personal styles and colors.

In most cases we will be doing hair and make up to prepare. If so come with freshly washed and conditioner skin and hair. If we aren't, then consider getting professional help before the shoot. Make up photographs much differently than we see things with our natural vision.

If you color or highlight your hair, get a touch up shortly before the shoot to ensure best photographic results and get your hair professional trimmed up and even styled.

You will want to make sure your teeth are also receiving attention if needed. You may want to see the dentist for a cleaning and have a whitening treatment done (either at home or the dentist's).

Don't forget your nails and hands. Believe it or not all the little details matter. Everything will show up. Nails need to be clean and trimmed/filed. So you may want to get a manicure (also can be done at home or by a professional) and a pedicure if choosing open toed shoes.

Don't however feel the need to lose weight. You are you. You are unique are loved. Your family doesn't care what you look like; they just want you to show up for them in the record of their lives. Neither do your clients care. They want to see the authentic you behind the business they choose to utilize.

Trust me to show the world the best you.
